Listing Data: When you post a property or item, we collect details including title, description, pricing, images, and location.

Booking & Payment Data: We collect booking details, rental duration, and payment references processed through Paystack. We do not store your full card details.

Communication Data: Messages exchanged between users via our chat feature are stored to facilitate rentals and resolve disputes.

Device & Usage Data: We collect device identifiers, IP addresses, browser type, and usage patterns to improve our services.

Verification Data: Phone verification codes and email verification status are collected to secure your account.

To create and manage your account and listings.

To process rental bookings and payments through our secure payment processor (Paystack).

To deduct our platform service fee of 10% from rental amounts to maintain and operate Ready Rent.

To charge viewing fees: ₵100 for in-person viewings and ₵50 for virtual tours.

To send SMS and email notifications about bookings, viewings, and account activity.

To verify your identity through phone and email verification.

To facilitate communication between renters and property/item owners.

To improve our platform through analytics and usage patterns.

To prevent fraud, abuse, and enforce our Terms & Conditions.

With Other Users: Your public profile name, verified status, and listing details are visible to other users. Your phone number is only shared with parties after a confirmed booking.

With Payment Processors: Payment data is securely transmitted to Paystack for processing. We participate in Paystack's split payment system to route owner payouts.

With Service Providers: We share data with SMS providers (via our configured SMS API) to send booking notifications.

With Authorities: We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users.

Business Transfers: In the event of a merger or acquisition, user data may be transferred as part of business assets.

We do NOT sell your personal data to third-party marketers.

All data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore), which uses industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit.

Payment transactions are handled by Paystack, a PCI DSS-compliant payment processor.

Access to your account is protected by Firebase Authentication with email/password or social login.

We implement role-based access controls — only admins can access user management tools.

Despite our efforts, no system is 100% secure. We encourage you to use strong passwords and enable email verification.

We send SMS notifications for booking confirmations, viewing requests, and important account alerts.

We send email notifications for account registration, password resets, and booking summaries.

You may opt out of non-essential marketing communications at any time by contacting us.

Transactional messages (e.g., booking confirmations) cannot be opted out of as they are essential to the service.

We use cookies and local storage to maintain your login session and remember your preferences.

Analytics tools may use cookies to understand how users interact with our platform.

Third-party embeds (e.g., Google Maps for property locations) may set their own cookies subject to their own privacy policies.

You can manage cookie preferences through your browser settings, though disabling cookies may limit platform functionality.

Deletion: You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us. Note that booking records may be retained for legal and financial compliance purposes.

Account data is retained while your account is active. Deleted accounts are removed within 30 days.

Booking records are retained for 7 years for financial and legal compliance.

Chat messages are retained for 2 years from the date of the last message.

Payment references are retained indefinitely for dispute resolution and audit purposes.

Ready Rent is intended for users who are 18 years of age or older.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18.

If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be published on this page with an updated revision date.

For significant changes, we will notify you via email or an in-app notification.

Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
